Flood Damage

Flooding of property can occur in many different ways.  A simple burst pipe in the attic, an over flowing water tank, faulty dishwasher or washing machine, damaged roof or regional flooding of streams, rivers and the sea.  In all cases, speed of action is vital to prevent further losses.  Rapid Response recommends that all electrical fittings are firstly made safe by a registered electrician.  Do not use any electrical appliance until this work is complete.  Removal of excess water is vital at the earliest possible time.  This can be achieved using many different methods – pumping equipment, wet vacuuming and mopping.  Once all excess water is removed unsalvageable structural and contents items should be removed and disposed of safely.  Following this dehumidification and air movement are used to draw moisture out of structural and contents items to return your property back to the ‘Dry Standard’.
